An outing to the seashore and the upland hamlets
The municipality of Tavira covers an area of 607 km2. The coastline has a seafront of 18 kilometers of fine sandy beaches, located in the middle of the Ria Formosa Natural Park, a protected area of high environmental value.
Tavira’s history is lost in time. Excavations carried out on the “genetic hill” show the presence of Phoenicians and other ancient peoples.
