Made by the Associação de Telheiros Artesanais (Association of Handmade Roofing Tiles), while ceramic building materials had been very significant in the past, the growing demand for materials with recognised ecological qualities and undeniable aesthetical value has opened up the possibility for growth and expansion for this activity sector. The Moorish pieces are made from clay obtained from the place of production and are essentially handmade.
