Platbands and Community wells

In Dr Carlos Picoito Square (the church square), the surrounding houses still have magnificent mortar platbands. Next to the church is a public well, which was opened in 1875 and deepened in 1926. This is just one of the eight community wells that the Parish Council ordered to supply the population during the 19th century.
