Fontinha do Bispo

The so-called Fontinha do Bispo is a recent 20-century factory structure

It was named after the neighbouring Horta do Bispo, one of Tavira’s old urban gardens, which also gave its name to Poço do Bispo and Rua do Poço do Bispo street.
The Fontinha do Bispo is set at the angle of the artificial platform on which the neighbouring building stands and is a masonry structure with ashlar slabs, with a spire flanked by flights of stairs. In 2024, tile panels on the walls of the structure were added, which include figurative representations alluding to characters and elements representative of the built heritage of the Atalaia area.
